Keyman Program Article Workshop

Workshop sessions for the 2020-2021 academic year concluded during Spring Quarter. The Program will continue the Article Workshop series again during the 2021-2022 academic year, with planned closed sessions beginning Fall Quarter, and a new call for applications announcement in Winter. Thank you for your interest!

The Keyman Modern Turkish Studies Program at Northwestern University’s Buffett Institute of Global Affairs continues its year-long series of online workshops to support early career scholars preparing an article for publication by a peer-reviewed journal. Accepted applicants are junior scholars working in all branches of the Social Sciences and Humanities on themes related to Turkey and its diasporas.  The accepted papers will be grouped in two or three and matched with a panel of experts who will read the works and provide feedback at a virtual discussion forum.  We will make an effort to include an expert of the writer’s choice in this panel.  The accepted applications will be asked to provide a draft of their work two weeks before the scheduled workshop date.  The frequency of the workshops will depend on the volume of applications which we will be accepting on a rolling basis throughout the academic year.
